“When you register for trek your body thoughts and emotions begin a new journey.”
You’ll wake up to a good hard day ahead. Gearing up, you begin taking forward steps. Adrenaline rushing in the first 15-20 mins, and slowing down as you realise, it doesn’t matter how fast you get there. You start being present to your fellow mates, help them out if needed, and proceed steadily. You surpass a lot of body limits, take breaks often to make sure you don’t overdo it. The greens get to your head and you feel more connected and a part of nature. Tired but high in spirits, you set up your first campsite. Your mind starts gushing with thoughts and insights, you talk to yourself for a while and doze off for another beautiful day.
You wake up recollecting your thoughts and a bit surprised at the comfy sleep you had in the middle of a jungle. It’s an important day today, less distance but steeper than the previous day. Your aim is Kedarkantha Base today. Less experienced trekkers may even find their decision to trek irrational time to time but then again, letting go and giving up isn’t an option. No place to run, no place to hide, the focus stays just at the next step.
You’ve been exhausted thoroughly in the last two days, still this day is special for you. It is going to push you through a lot of thought constructs. Your ‘I can’t walk because I’m tired’ will be shattered. Not only walk, but you will also climb the mountain to its top. At every single step on your way, you’ll wish you reach the summit early. But here’s the twist, when you reach and take time to yourself, you realize it wasn’t about the summit, it was about the climb and about the number of times you picked yourself up. With these thoughts lingering on your mind, you start your descent back to Jalouta campsite
Your body felt all of it, the 4 days of the trek and now has come the last day of the trek. A descent of 2,500 ft through forests and leaf covers. Every part of your body is tired by now, Body, thoughts in and emotions on a low. You’re revisiting a lot of memories, different incidents from your life will start flashing. And you will analyse them, but this time your energy is no more latent. You can take action now. And you’re beginning to think of what’ll be the first thing to change once you get down.
220 km drive which takes approx 10 hours.
GoGhumantu is using well thought out processes in all parts of the trek, which makes it an interesting training program for life. Best is, I was my own mentor with real life games and challenges.
My awareness has shifted. Right after I came back, I have designed a game for my health and fitness, having fitness goals backed by next game is an awesome feeling. Looking forward to do more challenging treks with GoGhumantu.
Trekking with GoGhumantu is a different flavor. I went on the trek just to enjoy beauty of the Himalayas, but GoGhumantu self development documents helped me see myself differently and in the process I met my higher self.
Zest to live life, altered after trekking with GoGhumantu. I have started a morning walk club, in my community. I am enjoying this new me.
